The old original barn was slatted and used for tobacco and hay. Through the years it has been used for hay, livestock, lambing ewes and 4-H projects. During a severe thunderstorm, the old barn blew down, and has been replaced with the current barn in the original location. It is currently being used for hay and tractor storage. The quilt pattern was a family choice. With two of their three children living out of state, their endless hope is that the meaning of the "Mariner's Compass" will always guide them home to their beginnings.
