Quilt Pattern Collage, Champaign county, Ohio

3783 West US Highway 36, Urbana

Barn Owners: Bart and Karen Ward
Quilt Square: "The Bacon Patch"
Sponsor: Bart Ward Family & Channell Equipment

Bart and Karen purchased the farm in February of 1988. The original structure was destroyed by fire in January of 2005. At that time, the lower level served as a farrowing house and home to numerous 4-H animals. The upper level served multiple purposes including storing implements, straw bedding, and a basketball court. September of 2005 marked the beginning of the current structure. It is now a modern facility used to meet the needs of Ward Farms today. The shop is used to perform maintenance and service for their farm equipment and trucks used on the farm. The quilt pattern, "The Bacon Patch", signifies that the Ward family has been in agriculture production for eight generations and has produced swine for five generations. The colors and the three sides represent their three sons and their respective college colors.
