Barn Owners: Grimes Municipal Airport
Quilt Square: "The Lone Eagle"
Sponsor: City of Urbana

Early in the 1940s, this building was constructed with wood to house aircraft. It was originally used as an airplane hangar, and it is currently the location for the Grimes Flying Lab Museum. The museum will be used as an educational tool and to preserve a community aviation heirloom. The Lone Eagle quilt pattern selected is a historical airplane quilt block created in 1929 and was selected by the Airport Growth and Development Board.
