Barn Owners: Todd and Jill Michael
Quilt Square: Ohio Star
Sponsor: Trenor Motors

The rectangular Pennsyvania Dutch part of the barn was built for the original homestead in the 1850s. The double doors on the front and back allowed steam threshers to separate grain and straw in the cneter of the barn. The 12 sided (dodecagon) barn was added in 1896, the same time as the current house. During the late 1890s, round barn design was used for efficiency prior to the invention of the manure gutter system. The farm was given to Cary Glessner as a wedding present. The son, Chauncey Todd Glessner lived here his whole life, 90+ years. Todd and Jill Michael purchased the farm in 1996, restoring the barn and house. It is on the National Register of Historical Places.
