Quilt Pattern Collage, Champaign county, Ohio

92 State Route 559, Woodstock

Barn Owners: Thomas and Eva Carey
Quilt Square: Underground Railroad
Sponsor: Eva Carey Realty

Lazy Man's Rest was one of the few documented sites of the Underground Railroad. The basement has a false wall, which is still intact, that hid the slaves. The barn was purchased in 1930 by Tom's grandparents, John and Laura Nance. The Careys chose "Underground Railroad" for their quilt square because of the history of the farm being an underground railroad stop.
